Giving Skin That Dewy Look is Easy

We're forever trying to reclaim the soft, moist skin we enjoyed when we were young, before the effects of age, the environment and our bad habits took their toll. Perhaps you've even tried to achieve this look, but just never could quite pull it off correctly.

Before you can succeed at giving your skin that dewy look, you've got to understand what this look is all about. Think of the dew that covers the ground and then think about how it glistens as it's hit by the early morning rays of sunshine. That's the dewy look we all want - the one that can take years off our looks.

The first step towards achieving that dewy look is to put away the powders. Powdery make-up tends to look dry and caked-on. Plus it gathers in fine lines and magnifies them! Cream blushes, foundations, and concealers are all available. Simply dab a sheer layer onto the skin with a sponge and blend well to create coverage that's sheer. And be sure not to leave any visible makeup lines.

Achieving the dewy look also means selecting lighter-colored lipsticks, eye shadows and liners and hair colors. Darker colors make you look older. For example, use blue mascara instead of black and select sheer eye colors that contrast rather than match your eye color instead of darker matte colors. Keep the dark matte colors off your lips, too and be sure to top lips off with a coat of gloss. If you use an eye pencil, smudge it in.
